Had a day off work. Went out again in the rain and caught 4 more Smallies!
Wife caught 3 and I caught one.:help:
We were using Green Pumkin grubs and watermelon tubes.

You, my friend, are a smart, smart man....
I should take you out someday, she will see how many more fish you can catch from a boat... Plus there is always a nice seat to sit on when they are not biting, thats my girl's favorite part

I'm definitely open to a fishing trip on a boat. I know nothing about operating or buying a boat.
I've been spying deals on craigslist but worried that I'll end up getting screwed since I know nothing about boats.

before you run out and buy that boat get it inspected by a bass boat dealer it will cost ya less in the long run ..... and my wife went threw 2 boats before she picked the one with 2 consoles now she is much happier to run to whatever hole im wanting to run to:meme:

this one is a 05 Skeeter ZX225 ..... still under manf. warranty that was my wifes selling point..... and as far as the price of this boat 36k ... my first bass boat was a bass tracker 17ft with a 70hp merc on the back a great starter boat and you can beach it no problem .... the next boat was a glass skeeter and after 3 months the jack plate went threw the transom this is why i say whatever you choose get it inspected by a dealer it will cost alot less in the long run.....:twocents::twocents::twocents:

That is a beautiful Skeeter.....
I agree with Jade Monkey that the Bass Tracker is a great started boat, and you can find them pretty cheap. Also check out Nixon Marine, they are in Walla Walla I believe. They have the biggest selection of bass boats around here as far as I know. Thats where we ended up getting our boat....

Jade Monkey

Here is a weird thought. You could also check out boats out of state and it may be worth while to go buy it and haul it back since bass boats are cheaper like say in Tx or some place like that, just a thought.

Agreed
I ended up going with a Triton Fish/Ski because it had a full windshield and four seats. I have a 2 yr old who loves being in the boat, but hates the wind, so the windshield helps. Plus its a little safer than a true bass boat for the little one. It still has all the amenities of a true bass boat, just not the front deck space, which is kind of a pain. I am looking forward to my son getting a little older and getting a "real" Triton!
But for now, I love my boat. We took FOREVER finding the correct boat. There is a lot to choose from (if your willing to do some traveling) and no easy way to go about it, just do a lot of looking, ask a lot of questions, and take some test rides if possible.
I am sure some of these ifishers, myself inlcuded, wouldn't mind taking you out so you can see your options.
Good luck

Ya just like that one except in red. An F-150 tows it fine, and I think maybe even a smaller truck could do it, but hills may be an issue.

I would definitely appreciate learning more about boats and experiencing fishing from a boat.
Earlier this summer I was considering a inflatable pontoon boat, but that wouldn't be very practical if the wife decided to tag along. haha....
Which clubs are available around Portland? Any suggestions?
