call mark at First Bite Jigs .... man i feel your pain it sucks to see em and not even get a look..:help::help:..... Mark is da man when it comes to the style of fishing..... he is on here too!!!!
Try a large girdle bug in purple or dark blue sparkle or a green butt skunk under your bobber, you can get those at a good fly shop.

use flys they work really good in clear water where steelhead are easy to spook

If those steelhead are holding where you can easily see them, most likely they wont ever bite.

All the summer steelies that I catch, which is a limit most of the time that I go our, I see the fish.

Man, you are going to have to take me steelheading. I have yet to get a bite. (Confession: I have only gone a couple of times and never with someone who know the ropes. Therefore I do not assume they are impossible to catch.)

They are pretty much impossible I think everyone who claims to catch a limit is lying :pp:wink::cheers::pp
Of course that may just be because I am an incompetent steelheader. 4 years of fly fishing for them and only 2 hooked up and none landed

Haulin ' Bass, down size, think crappie jigs, the tiny jigs just marabou. If no one is bothering the fish, you will catch them.I have had great success adding a little scent to the lead head of the jig.Change colors a lot till you find the right one .Try black first, light on light days, dark on dark days. It's no bull we used to get limits all the time.30 fish in a hole the lead fish will bite.Make a good presentation cast way upstream,no movement ,no noise.Watch the jig the fish will bite and not move the float. They will swim over to it and eat it.Make sure you present the jig in the fishes face,so look at the jig and watch it float until it is at the right depth.Glasses are a must.I expect to see some pic's of you holding up some fish.Look at my fish gallery you will see me holding up a 14lb ultra-brite summer-run.Superfluke SR.P.S. if you tell me the hole I will clean-up.Good luck if you need more help let me know.
