Bass???

Looking for a great place in Central Oregon to take the boys bass fishing. We were up at Prineville Resevoir(sp) last weekend and just caught bass around five to eight inches. Any ideas???

Prineville has tons of bass. It has small and large mouth. Your results may have to do with timing. How were you fishing and with what? If you were in a boat, what was the water temp.? My guess is if you only caught dinks that you may have been fishing too shallow for this time of year. You don't usually catch the bigger fish near the bank at this time of the year. There is some action near the bank very early or very late but, it is usually a small window.

I was out yesterday and the lake is really busy this time off year with boaters. If you were live bait or bank fishing that is the size you get off the bank. The fish were in 24 to 36 feet orienting off drop offs and the channels and relating to plateus at 16 feet. It was tough fishing but you had to get deep for the larger fish, 1/2 to 3/4 oz jigs or deep cranks wacky rigged, t-rigged senkos.

love this place we fish there 4-5 times a year .... my oldest put a 4+ lb LM in the boat and the wife put a 3lb smallie in the boat too last year...... fish deep and off rock piles and stumps..... change up color often and pratice C&R keep our fisheries plentyfull ..... god i cant spell;)

Well from the sounds of it we were fishing in too shallow of water. We were casting from the boat towards the bank. The temp was about 73 degrees. Thanks for the info, will try her again.
