Two of my 4 kids (5&8) and I are camping at Trillium lake August 24-26. We are taking car top row boat. Last year I suspected fish were along lilly pads but had no luck trolling wedding rings and casting into pads. What do you suggest and where? Thanks much.

Was there a month or two ago and did well with a worm under a bobber off the dam. When I take the row boat, trolling a worm behind a flasher is always a good bet. My dad used to row me around that lake all day long when I was a kid. We would just troll the Spruce fly or a Black nat extremely slow. Always worked for us. It pretty shallow over by the pads, you're probably better off closer to the dam.
Oh, i forgot to add. Most people were casting out as far as they could, when all the fish were holding about 10 ft. off the bank. So, we just pitched it right out in front of us and started slammin' them.
