I am not sure what it is called but as a kid we used to use worm and crawdad and then tip the hook with either an egg or corn. This used to be used a lot in the cascade lakes for Kokes and rainbows. I was just wondering if anybody does this anymore and if you have had much luck. The last several years all I do is troll with wedding rings or jig with nordics/buzz bombs.

I've seen some folks using this method at both Odell and Wickiup with pretty good success. A kernel of white corn, a piece of worm, and a red Pautzke egg on the tip of the hook is the usual combination.
I use jigs (lazy) 95% of the time, but when things are really slow the bait fisherman seem to have the edge. The bite is really light at times and they miss quite a few and have to re-bait...but then I miss quite a few myself using treble hooks on my jigs.

There are several versions of the "Wickiup Sandwich". All involve worm and a salmon egg. Additions to complete the sandwich include crawdad tail, marshmallow, or corn.
My biggest kokanee ever was 22" caught anchored at mouth of the Deschutes arm with sandwich of worm, egg, marshmallow, and piece of crawdad.
Yes, it still works but it is hard to find a peaceful spot to anchor anymore.
Good luck, let us know if you find success.
