You caught limits but I bet they weren't of a noteworthy size as compared to some years past. They just don't seem to be getting as big (15" to 18") this year. Like all fisheries you have good years and so-so years. I have yet to see someone post a photo of a koke caught from Merwin this year (with a ruler next to it) that is 16-17"+.

Please, someone prove me wrong.

John

I would agree with what both of you have said.

Doldrums to me mean the fishing is really slow and that has not been the case for me either. Limits are pretty normal for my boat too. sometimes it takes longer than others but the fish are biting. Off the hook, no. Doldrums?... not even close.

Hey I do have one bit of good news from Noel Johnson- the Merwin Kokanee fishery will be continued- this was agreed as part of the 50 year relicensing agreement. Noel was active in that process. That's good news.

The fish are there, though. I'm going to hit it Sunday and if we whack 'em fast we'll go to Yale.

regards, aw

It would be much more noteworthy if the Columbian was correct about something wouldn't it?

Been fishing tuna a lot lately but the wife says I have to spend time with the inlaws on Merwin Sunday...

Was up there last week and showed them how to run their boat and this past week they've really got it dialed in with limits 3 out 5 trips.

Should be fun...their great inlaws.

Yeh...what summer duldrums are they talking about..??
