Sure miss the former life of the party around here! Trucked on down to his little piece of heaven of a lake for some trout fishing last Sat. Met Chuck and his friend Scott in their boat at 5:30am and zoomed on up to the honey hole. They began to immediately put the hammer down on some really nice trout, while we trolled around a bit('cause that's what I do!)
Didn't take long to see that we were in another league(the little league).
So we anchored up next to them and proceeded to be schooled in the fine art of plunking for trout!
He made us wince in the pain of agony and defeat while we snagged bottom endlessly and re-tied a few times and went fishless for about an eternity. ( I thought I remembered him last week saying -come on down "friend"!)
When the will to plunk was almost drained out of us he finally coughed up the goods and gave us a few tips. I rigged as described and had a 16 rainbow in 3 minutes! After that I was back to being useless again! He apparently gave me a tip with a timeout on it!
OK then- I can troll and catch a fish- you just watch! Put on the trusty brass cone head brown muddler fly and dropped it down 10 feet on the downrigger-and PRESTO! Fish on!

Caught at least 4 more like this trolling around and lost a scary one that let go at the end of the first long run-aaaaargggggghh!!!!! Had a great time, the weather was perfect and the company was too.
Thanks Chuck for the lessons and the sharing of your fishing hole- that was fun!
