With the post about lurkers out there, I thought hey, why don't we just say hi.

No need to add comments if your shy.

Lets get a count. Don't ask why.

Just a thought, Goodbye.

Trying to be a poet.

OTS- good poetry and thanks for making lurkers like me welcome. Sounds like you like to laugh and have fun that is what it is all about! Right? On a serious side where are those Tuna ? How close or far out? I know they are with in range someone brought a Fresh load into Garibaldi Marina for crab bait yesterday. My goal this summer is to go after them. Probably charter a trip when they get 30 miles out. After reading Pilars posts and seeing pics last year makes me hugry thinking about it. I have to look up info on how to clean them etc.

Welcome will_e_fish. images/icons/grin.gif

Hello.......as ya can see my name is.well Larry and yeah I pop in here and read the board cuz I am usually housebound due to the status of my O.D.L.(which i am currently rectifying) yet since I cant fish often I live vicariously through ifish and the wonderful people in it. The adventures I read here, while not providing me with info so that I can go catch hoards of fish, leaving none in any river for anyone else, do provide me with satisfaction that someone is catching fish!!! By the way I did make it out to mckiver park today (s.i.c.?)caught a couple of chinook jacks or awful large smolts 10-14" on a small pearl pink corkie. Didnt want to harm them so got em in quickly and kept em in the water while disengaging the #1 hook. Thank you for my member ship here...hope to someday meet some of ya!!! best of wishes Larry.

Well as one former "lurker"(I hate that name) to another I want to say welcome aboard. If you make it down south give me an e-mail and we can hit the river.

Welcome, as far as the tuna question, Pilar is the man. My moniker is land based. See post on "where you got your moniker" for explanation. I recommend a simple post with a topic like "where's the Tuna" and ask for GPS coordinates if taking your own boat. I've scavanged carcasses with Pilar at Newport for crab bait. So i know the charters go out of there for them. might also call tradewinds at Depoe bay. I believe Pilar goes about 20 to 40 miles out. Last year was a warm tide and tuna were actually hooked within 5 miles offshore and even in Astoria. I even heard a story of marlin being seen off the coast last year. Don't expect that this year.

Good Luck to ya

Bah, lurkers are lurkers. Lets not get all PC now.

While we are name calling, I could probably be called a cracker after I crackered off Smily's first silver in Dan!'s boat with the net. images/icons/shocked.gif Everyone gets too defensive around here. images/icons/tongue.gif Just have fun with it, isn't that what fishing is all about? images/icons/cool.gif

Hi

Made my first trip to Oregon to play. Having grown up(some would debate this statement) in Washington I had never taken the time to explore your fine state. Had a blast. Caught lots of fish. Got wet.

Got limit of salmon out of Winchester Bay on an unnamed charter and limits of rockfish out of Newport.

Flyfished on the McKenzie with O2fish and had a fine time with cutts and redsides.

Rafted the upper Rouge and Kalamath.

Didn't realize Oregon had so much to offer.

Great campgrounds too.

And from Nevada lots closer than Washington

p.s I won't tell a soul

Welcome Catch22 and a special welcome to desertdog from Neveda. Glad to have you aboard as a new member and happy you enjoyed our state. Just don't tell anybody OK. images/icons/grin.gif .

Just do like Lewis and Clark and report the dreadful neverending rain and mud everywhere. If you don't have a 4x4 you can't get anywhere. Just loggers and hippie's out here on the west coast anyway. At least thats what I tell the easterners that ask.

Oh I'm not new. I've been here over a year now. I've been in WV since December though, so most of the newer people here won't remember me. Anyway thanks for the welcome. A few days ago, I posted a new thread that I was coming home. However, only hookset replied. Thanx hookset!

catch22, well welcome home. images/icons/smile.gif

Pilar, I said scavanged. I didn't mention the dumpster diving, images/icons/wink.gif but now that the tuna is out of the bag we probably won't find anymore. images/icons/frown.gif They were dang good crab bait weren't they. images/icons/grin.gif
