Well now I have seen it all! I was at Devils lake this weekend to do a little camping and fishing. Somthing to do while were waithing for upriver snookers.
When I was waiting at the boat ramp to get the boat out. Some jack@$$ with a very nice Custom Weld Storm decides he need to rinse the salt off his boat. Most people leave there boat on the trailer and start the motors for a good rinse.
But NOOOOO this guy takes his boat off the trailer and proceeds to go for a joyride. Yes you guess it,leaves his trailer in for ten minutes while four other boats are waiting to take there boats out.
Not only that he could not run his boat up on his trailer very good. It take him another five minutes to get his boat on the trailer before he decides to get out.
If your going to rinse the salt off your boat, please leave your boat on the trailer and start those motors, rinse, and go!!

OSMB has a ticket for those kind of people.
I would have written down his reg. numbers and sent a letter to them so they could send him a "boating Oregon" handbook with the page highlighted on loading and unloading at a ramp.
maybe we should make copies and keep them on hand to post on windshields of these abandoned vehicles.
or just release the parking brakes. images/icons/grin.gif

Take the air out? But he would still be there this morning. Maybe not a bad thing, could use another boat ramp! images/icons/rolleyes.gif

I saw a guy do that at the Oak Grove boatramp one year on the 4th of July. He was nowhere to be seen. Welcome to the world of boats...Sandybar!! I've often thought a guy could get rich doing videos for America's Funniest Vidoes show. images/icons/shocked.gif

Sandybar, i was at Devils Lake all last week. Just came home today. Was in my 16 ft. Sylvan, Yukon select, did you see me?
We have a big get together every year and stay at the RV campgrounds by the marina.
we caught some really nice fish all in the range of 12 to 14 inches. Nice and fat and pink and there headed for the smoker. My 10 year old grandson caught and we released a 20 in non fin clipped rainbow, what a beauty.Wish i would have known you were there as i would like to meet some of the IFish members. Glad i did not see the moron you mentioned rinsing his boat. That trailer setting in the water would have been to much of a temptation for me if you know what i mean.

I had a similar experience, On a Sunday at 12:00 noon at the Chinook landing a guy in front of me puts his trailer in and proceeds to walk away, I politely images/icons/confused.gif ask the guy where the heck he;s going and he says he left his boat over by the beach area and has to go get it. Now it's super crowded at the ramp and it takes him 20 minutes to get his boat in and around the other boats waiting. He then takes another 20 minutes getting his boat on the trailer and gives everyone the middle finger salute as he's leaving, unbelievable!! When I first got my boat I practiced in off hours going up and down ramps and loading and unloading my boat so I woudn't tie-up the ramp for others, the weekend warriors kill me images/icons/mad.gif

Seems to me that if the boat and rig "accidently" rolled down into water deep enough to pilot a boat over, the problem would have been solved. Not to mention the improved fish habitat.
