I'm heading to Diamond Lake on Thursday. Looking for any info. Never fished there before. Looking forward to starting a new tradition with my grandkids. Any help will be appreciated...thanks!

I was there last weekend and it was slow due to the water temps reaching 71 degrees. Saturday the ODFW checker had seen 16 for 16 boats when I came in. We did manage 4 fish trolling the west side in 25-30 feet of water. Flasher in front of a black rooster tail, 3/8 oz weight out 40 pulls. The guy at the store said they were a few picked up still fishing using powerbait in deep water or worms in shallow.

Pretty place, the next time I fish it will be in May or June when the water is colder. There is a good swimming area for the grandkids along with bike trail all the way around the lake. In addition to the resort, there is the South Shore Pizza to keep the kids happy. Even if you don't catch any fish it will be worth starting a tradition with the kids.

Have fun

Thank you GR8waves. Sounds like I better pack the Speedo's heh!! That would be something the grandkids won't forget. I've always heard this was a great place to stayand fishing is always fun regardless of catching anything when the kids are along.

The north entrance to Crater Lake is right there too. I bet the grandkids would love to head up there one afternoon and look around. They also have bumper boats, paddle boats, bike rentals, and a horse corral in Diamond Lake so you should be able to find something to keep busy if the fishing is slow.

It is a great family place, I'm really glad the fishing is coming back.
