Is there any action now on Hagg for trout or bass fishing from shore or do I need a boat to reach them?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I haven't been up there recently but it hasn't been stocked since June and the water temp is probably in the low 70's so expect the trout to be deeper. From the bank, I'd try the Scoggins Creek arm or either side of ramp "A" early. For bass from the shore, try top-water types & jerk baits before sunrise around the ramps. It's probably going to be a little slow from a boat or the bank, especially after the sun hits the water. Good luck!

You can still catch trout from shore using a sliding sinker and about a 3' leader to a small treble hook. Use Rainbow power bait. Cast out as far as possible. If you do not catch anything within 45 minutes to an hour move on. If you have a boat use the same set up and drop anchor in about 40-45 feet of water. The water is getting fairly warm so look for deeper areas when fishing off the bank.
Good luck!!

I leterally just got home from Hagg...and for the first time I did NOT catch anything......that sucked...I tried everything I had and every scent and the shore was my enemy today....as was the report from the boat peoples....but yesterday was a hit for everyone......good luck.....

I trolled all kinds of lures and depths on Saturday for 6 hours without ONE STRIKE! Even stopped and tried a little powerbait action (I mean non-action) for awhile. 10-20 ft. on the sonar was full of fish all over the lake-no biters and very few were visible at any other depths. An occasional few at 35-40 ft. where I usually catch them at this time of year-but very few and no biters there either.
I hate to go home early on a fishing day- but 6 hrs without a bite is beyond the call of duty!

same as trollin4trout, just 3 days later. Not a single bite in 4 hours, fish all over the sonar. It was windy enough to shut off the motor and drift across the lake, but fishing was so slow and it was warm and i actually let my lab run the boat for awhile while i slept! I don't know if he caught anything while I was out, he didn't tell me about it if he did, I sure came up empty, all at thirty to fifty feet. Nice day for a boat ride.
