is there any fishing out at the banks-vernonia state park?

i was gonna take the kids out there to do a day trip. i thought shoot, why don't i bring the trout stuff.

i won't if there aren't any spots to go out. just wondering if anyone has been there.

did you mean vernonia lake? I was just there last friday and this past wensday. My kids had a blast catching blue gills and perch but thats all I was being caught. As soon as the bobber hit the water it went under LOL fiesty little guys :dance: hope that helps

There is not any fishing around the New state park or the linear trail until you get into vernonia. Vernonia pond has been kicking out some nice fish but the trout are almost all gone. I saw one jump on monday that was probably 4 pounds. They are still in there. I have seen some nice one caught underneath the docks with worms
