Noisey Steering

My steering wheel moans and graons when making turns. Is this a common noise with hydraulic steering? I own a fairly new boat, should I be concerned?

Mine makes a little noise.... Especially when I am in reverse and I turn the wheel hard. Just make sure you have plenty of hydraulic fluid in it.

Besides the hydralic fluid there is a specific way to remove all trapped air in the lines ... This varies from brand to brand and the sequence varies also .. The dealer should have this information for ya ...Barney

Even with all the air gone, it is still going to make noise. Sometimes sounds like something grinding and moaning.... Still love the steering though.
