Hello fellow Ifishers, I need some recommendations on aluminum cleaners. I have a 06 NR Seahawk and I would like to find a product that will remove marks from the bare aluminum surfaces. I tried to remove some sticky substance from my boat last year with a never dull pad. Now I have these dark swirl marks on the outside surface of my boat that will not go away. I do not like the highly polished look and am not looking for a product that will produce a mirror type finish. I just would like to find something that does a good job cleaning light marks and oxidation.
Thanks, DJB

A die grinder and a blue roloc 3m pad. 4" blue pad is fairly fine and will not polish but will clean. You will want to reseal the aluminum with Sharkhide after you are done. The 3-m pad is what I use to prep the metal prior to welding.

In my opinion there is no in between it is polish or dont touch. You could use several acid based washes but you may not like that etched finish either. I tryed to clean up an area on my NR but it was hard to match the natural oxide that had already set on my boat. Then the white spots came on now I am polishing. Good luck maybe some one else can help you more.

I use Cameo stainless steel and aluminum cleaner for pots and pans. (I usally find it a Winco.) It is a VERY mild abrasive, when used with a pink/white scrubby sponge (like you would use for dishes). Be sure to go with the grain of the aluminum where possible.

I can clean my entire boat with it in just over an hour and it looks great. Removes the oil stains, oxidization and even most of the dock scars.

Good luck!
