During springer fishing, my LCG-2000 GPS unit (on a 26C) stoped working (GPS could not be found)... a short while later, it started working again. Has happened a few more times since. I have now re-wired the NMEA2000 network to add another device and am still having the same intermittent issues where the LCG2000 unit can't be found.

I've double checked the NMEA2000 power supply and all cabling... all looks good. I did notice that I had v1.7 for the LCG-2000 software (v1.7 for the 26c), so upgraded the LCG2000 software today to v1.9. Hoping it is just a software issue... don't want this problem at the mouth of the CR...

Has this happened to anyone else? Software issue or possible hardware?

I feel your pain. I had the same thing happen to me (Lowrance 337) last week (launched the boat and wouldn't connect to the GPS module when it had been working great a few days before). I haven't gotten down and dirty to find the problem yet, but none of my fuses had blown and all my connections were solid. Go figure this would happen a few trips after putting the $$ down for the Navionics maps.

Hopefully someone else has figured this one out already.

Had the same issues with my x26HD. Mine would rarely work and most of the time I got the message "GPS Module Not Responding". Did the software update and it's been working fine ever since.

Do you have radar on the boat or are around radar?
If so, then you need to do some searches here and come up to speed on the issues they've been having with the GPS antenna's. Talk of firmware upgrades and shielding fixes still have not FIXED the issue.

I have a 337 CDF and it has had the same on going problem with the module not responding. It seems to happen about every time I launch at Windy Bay. I end up disconnecting the GPS and hooking it back up. I have upgraded the software and thought it would fix the problem but it didn't. I have contacted Lowrance and have received exactly nothing in response to the problem. You would think they would want to address this because of the bad press. So far it doesn't happen once I get it up and running but I do carry two back up hand held units when running offshore. I don't have a radar. I like the unit but I am just a little bit apprehensive when I am on the big blue.

No Radar (yet), but will go with furuno when it is time.

I was really hoping that the consensus would be that the firmware upgrade fixes it.... Will test it this weekend on the water .

Bucolic Buffalo - Disheartening on the response you've gotten from Lowrance. I definitely don't want to rely on the handheld (another lowrance product) on the big blue either...

I used to be very happy with Lowrance products and their service... but times are changing and will look elsewhere I think when it is time.

I had problem with a LMS337 until I figured out the LGC2000 antenna was not wired correctly- pages 12-14 on this doc is helpful:

LGC-2000 firmware upgrade appears to have fixed the issue.

LGC-2000 firmware upgrade appears to have fixed the issue.
I have a LMS-337DF with the latest version of firmware and I have saw this problem a couple weeks ago, but since I had just connected the head unit to the cables I figured it was my problem caused by a loose connection since it went away after a power-down and reconnect.

I do like the new LGC-2000 firmware however - very snappy satellite lock!
