I am planning on installing a three battery system in my boat. Is it possible to run 12V electronics and a 24V trolling motor off of the same bank of batteries (One battery dedicated to starting, two batteries on a seperate bank)? Thanks a ton, guys...

Since the 24vdc system has the two 12vdc batt's wired in series, you would have to center-tap 12vdc to the ground reference (0 vdc).
What I am saying is that it is possible to provide both voltages, but I don't know if it is commonly done, good for the batteries, or even safe for marine use. It would definately have some creative wiring and terminal boards.
Then there is the complication of wiring in your Perko battery switch and having it work properly while still providing both voltages. (and /or your shore power/charging inverter) Even more creative wiring!
If it was my project, I would keep it simple, and run the 24vdc electric troller on it's own, seperate power source.

hello, yes you can do it but you will have one battery in your 24v system that has an isolated ground and cannot be used for anything. if your batteries are going to do double duty then use the largest batteries that you can fit in the space availible. group 31's will fit into a group 27 box.

This is not what Chuck was describing, but rather the setup without the 3 bank battery switch.
