Chrissy and I had a chance to film with Kevin Newell and his family in Astoria about a week ago now. Kevin, Lacy, and his father Bernie showed us a great time on the water we will not forget. What an amazing place to fish this is. The entire day we saw 0 other boats as far as the eye could see and the water was almost flat the whole time. Lacy is a great fisherwoman and was a big help to us in landing alot of chrissy's fish. She is clearly a great deckhand : ) Double and tripple hookups all day as well as 2 from the old stock. The fish down there are a nice clean white as if fresh from the ocean and man do they scrap!

Chrissy broke her biggest fish ever record 2 times and caught several nice keeper size fish but when hawgzilla came to play she declined an offer to take the rod......lol

What started out as a relaxing day took a turn to crazy gator action for hours

A tripple header, you can not see Bernie up in the bow fighting the 3rd fish. Kevin on the video camera. He had confidence that we could all handle our fish while he captured the moment of "crazy"

IM into a 7 footer here and he just flipped me the bird and took off again. What a fight for a salmon rod..

A fast 13 minute fight and he is kissed and released..

Can we say 10 footer? The agony that is hawgzilla..

Tag teaming the big boy was the best for his health and when Kevin thought he could turn the fish and get it done...NOT...Just look at the bend in the rod LOL...He has ALOT of confidence in us but even more for that salmon rod.

A head the size of a lawn mower..

Kevin's guess 10 feet along side his boat. A surprise that this is actually Lacy Newells first oversize? it was to me...Great job Lacy! less then 20 minutes with assistance by Bernie for the first 6 minutes. Released unharmed : )

I know this seems expected to say but listen to me....Book a trip with kevin for C&R gators or even keeper season and you will have the time of your life I promis. Kevin KNOWS his game period...I have fished gators my whole life all over the west coast and this was a trip that I want to repeat again for sure next year. We did not mind at all releasing such great fish to fight again some day. Kevins contact is posted in his threads on his personal ifish forum. He has a ton of great pics he just posted from the keeper season... well here this is the number I have for him, 360-430-2521.

I will be cutting a film from this day very soon that our familys feel is going to be great!!!

Thank you Kevin, Lacy, and Bernie for this day. Chrissy and I hope we fish again soon with you folks.
