On your web site you mentioned using Jell-o for coloring salmon eggs. Have you ever tried this with cut plug herring, to give it color? Here in the east, there was a company that made bait coloring but has closed its doors. Very nice web site you have. I'll be sending people there for info.

I haven't tried the jello on the herring. Most of the jello colors are available in food coloring also. I was able to find chartuese bait coloring from Procure. Nobody had it locally but I was able to buy direct from the website. I don't see why Jello wouldn't work as a coloring, sure dyes the kids hair pretty colors. Now there is a idea hair dye in the neon colors.....anybody try that one yet?
