Went out of Tillamook today, had to wait till after 8 am for the bar to open. Heard a rumor that the silvers were in close off of twin rocks. The rumor turned out to be true. Limits of coho 300 yards out front of Twin Rock. Will give it a go again tomorrow. Hopefully the bar will be calmer, it was pretty rough today.

Talked to BIll last night, and he said all boats came in with limits that he talked to. Got them easily.
All about 4 to 5 lbs. Pretty normal for this time of year.
Bar and ocean conditions were not Jennie proof though. Rough!

Fished again today out of Tillamook. The bar and ocean were very flat. Limited the boat again. Two of the coho were 5-6 lbs. the third was 12 lbs, and the fourth was a 28 lb chinook. The three silvers were hooked at 2 pulls that is right, two pulls, 45 pulls, 60 pulls, and the chinook was hooked at 14 pulls. We also had 7 other strikes without hookups. All fish were on divers and green label whole herring.

On Friday I was with my father in a 24 foot bayliner. Today I was in my boat that is a 19.5 foot Sea Nymph, aka Lund Superfisherman.

rookie question here: How far is twin rocks out the bar of tillamook? Is twin rocks the farthest north that the silver fishery is open now? Thanks in advance for the info... fishinfool images/icons/grin.gif

Fished Coho out of Depoe Bay yesterday (Saturday). Though the other boats were doing ok, we had a tough go of it. The two of us put a 6 pounder on the boat, and had several other strikes. The fish were scattered in 180 feet of water a bit south of the harbor. We fished dodgers, lead and herring-tipped hoochies at 15 pulls. Everyone else I talked to fished about 15 pulls too. Herring seemed to do better than the hoochies.
I don't feel too badly about the score though. My buddy got seasick, so we had to go in early. On the drive home, he pulled out a banana...and yes, it turns out he did bring it aboard. I'm not superstitious, but I've never done well with a banana aboard any boat.
The fish are out there, but it wasn't the slaughter we were anticipating. Perfect ocean though...wind at 2 knots, 3 foot swell
