NEWBIE! Are you going to let a mod drag the ifish name through the mud?

I have been lurking here for a while (as well as the P.P.B.B.) and am disgusted by the actions of a moderator whom goes by the name "pilar".

I understand that an opinion that is different than the site ops will be deleted (seen it many times)but why must this knuckled bow to the pressure and post sophomoric messages?

Part of the site disclaimer states "We want to keep it fun for most members,
most of the time. A group of dedicated volunteers function as moderators to
help keep the discussions civil." (it is also the longest disclaimer I have ever seen)

This is not fun anymore.
I have read all the posts and I have to say that pilar's apology (if you can call it that) is nothing more than a slap in the face.

Since pilar has power (percieved) here I can see why he posts what he does. But why go to the P.P.B.B. and post negative messages?

Not only does this show his true IQ, but it drags the (?good?) name of ifish through the mud.

I am requesting that pilar step down as mod, or the other mods and Jennie make him step down.

This site claims to have the largest amount of Oregon fishers and it should be a class act. This pilar is the class clown.

Delete if you want, but I am also posting this at P.P.B.B.

It is a simple solution. Quiets the place down. This is Jen's place, and she sets the rules. If those rules are not acceptable to you, just leave. It isn't mentally challenging.

Why do half of the topics on this board over the last week have nothing to do with fishing? It's really getting old reading all your complaints about moderators, this website, editing of posts, etc. This is a fishing board - please post stuff about fishing! Write a lettter to Ann Landers if you have something to complain about - I'd bet that most of us don't really care about your non-fishing related gripes. Grow up.

As it seems that you are not a significant contributor to this board and you are more concerned about what took place on another board that you frequent I'm a little puzzled.

All of the sudden you decide to come out of the shadows and take a swing. That's cheap.

Try doing a search and pull up all of the posts that Pilar has contributed. He has helped more folks learn about fishing techniques and locations than you have hits on this board.

Sometimes it's easy to get spun up. I don't think that this board would be a better place without Pilar. And, if you think the job is so easy why don't you put your name in the hat?

I think Pilar was a little out of hand and he admits it himself, but we are all entitled to our mistakes. We learn from them. Chalk this up to a learning experience. I've learned more from Pilar over the past year than I had in the last five.

Jen, don't let the backstabbers win this one.

Look at the contributions.

I think we should all just go fishing. These off base topics always have a way of cropping up between seasons.

Although both Pilar and Ya'all are wandering around stepping on their appendages, let them be. They will work it out. I haven't heard this kind of whining since grade school (okay I was 24 when I graduated from there)

Riverswild: You are more like a remora, following the sharks, or the last dog in the pile, nipping at the big dogs and retreating for a head pat. Get a life. Take this to the other board and bask in the glow.

Pilar and Ya'all you both seem to be the type of people that I either do fish with or would be quite comfortable fishing with. Work it out civily or take it outside.

This one board against the other is ridiculous.

Rivers', I think Pilar may have used "reel name" to cast suspicion upon me because he has issues with me or anyone (such as 'Yall) that posts opposition to Jennie's BB policies. But this, and some other monikers, flying around here with negativity are NOT me (accept what I have posted with "RT") - which should be easily determined by Pilar or other mods or Jen via ISP #'s. Another cheap shot Pilar. Do not use "reel" in anthing else when it's not me. Thank you. - RT

Hi RT, thanks for putting words in my mouth. 'Reel' refers to anyone who has not the stones to use their original name to comment or spread hate and discontent. If that fits you it is unfortunate. You have always been a source of great information, interesting topics and witty debate. I have to assume you would not use such a tactic.

Last time I checked this was a place to share knowledge and stories about "FISHING".I keep getting e-mails from my friends asking why I am not posting anymore.............Quite frankly, there hasn't been much in the way of fun and interesting reading, Come on guys, If you can't participate in informational or educational information, or at least supply a story that relates to "FISHING" get the heck off this board........period!!!!! My biggest problem was that when Pilar went over to the "other" board with his regular moniker and started flinging mud then comes back here this morning and drags it over here.
In my opinion when he went over there and started flinging his *rap around he was well known as a representative of iFish. He made himself look like an idiot in doing it and brought this board down a few notches.
I'm not saying Pilar is an idiot, I realize how much info he has provided, just saying he looked like one there for a bit.

Lately, there are a few that seem to be focused on creating a living hell for Ifish moderators and seem to be attempting to push you to quit. It's going to get tough, but if you refuse the bait, the instigators will eventually fade away. You have a lot of supporters that are very grateful for the volunteer work you do here. And Bob, I wasn't bad mouthing anyone - just telling Pilar not to use part of my known ID here of "Reel" when it comes to names or monikers (same for you too Roy - it looks really lame). If Pilar had actually meant real and not "reel" with his suspicion casting attempt he would have just used the word 'real'. That is some recognizable truth for you members. That's quite the insult to them to suggest that they are willing to stay in "a living hell" without pay! ... And there have been many that have expressed that it's the other way round. Since I have helped for nearly 2 years to make this a good site and contributed over 3000 posts with the old and new BB, I will give my take and $0.02 opinion of what can help solve this mess in another thread; rather than do what many on here are doing - telling each other to take a hike (which is simply a lame and solution avoiding stance!).

I suggest you mods don't delete yet another thread with this one. It has some rightful opinions and clarifications. And hopefully the resolution thread will help make these things go away, if it's accepted well. Thanks guys.

Pilar has got a hard on for some of the members of this board for reasons unknown to me. He should have just tried to take care of it in civil and private way through e-mail, Not on a public forum. I realize that this is Jennies web site and she has rules that need to followed. What I dont understand is, How can some people get away certain things while other get posts edited or deleted for the same thing? I put up a post the other night that shuld have been edited, But it wasnt.
In my opinion the members of this board are being spilt and Pilar is the wedge. Im sure Pilar is a down to earth nice guy in real life, Prove me right and show it here on the internet.
Another thing, Dont go accuseing people of things unless you can prove it, as in postig under different monikers.

All I am trying to get acrossed is that this used to be a place I enjoyed coming to and it has changed drastically because of one out of control moderator.

Mr. Fisherman- yes, pilar had contributed alot of great advice, as well as fishinmission and the others. But when pilar spouts off around the net it makes ifish look bad.

Ol Tuna- RT is right, anyone can type a sig, and the person you are refering to has actually copied and modified (for the better) my sig.

My point is simple..There are general concerns about the double standards here.

I failed to see any humor in this title and thought about editing the title, but decided to leave it alone. Inconsistent? Yes it is. What I can't figure out is why people intentially post offensive and sarcastic remarks.

There are and have been, several post/threads where people intentionaly dared the moderators to take action. And when we do, the complaints start. How about we just talk fishing and leave the non-humorous sarcastic remarks out. The water's warm enough without adding coal to the fire.

I didnt believe there was a double standard. I posted that to see for myself. If you felt it need modified it should have been done. If Im in the wrong I expect the moderators to do there job. Im not here to cause problems, Im here to contribute and get info. If I ever get out of line, Let me know.
