I have heard from several locals that seal rocks in the ocean has a picked over bed. I would think that you just have to find some gravel and start digging.

I had so much fun it should be illegal!!!! We had a smooth water taxi ride across the bay and the view was GREAT mountains surrounding us. The weather was a balmy 65 degrees, (hey, we are in Alaska OK) and the sun was shinning bright. We raked for about 1 1/2 hours and got over a 5 gallon bucket filled with steamers and butter clams!!!!

I am shell fished out, tonight I had a burger for dinner!

If you ever get a chance to come up here on the penninsula you really should do the above trip for steamers. Tight lines and tough clam rakes, Kim

btw - I forgot to add that I took the pictures in today for developing, I will post one as soon as I get them back.
