CATCH AND EAT

A week ago Sunday my daughter (18) Caitlin and my wife arrived home from visiting and orientation at her college. The following day Caitlin fell very ill with white spots on her tonsels, very sore throat, and very swollen face. Not strep, not mono, not mumps........doctor has no idea. 9 days of antibiotics have done little to help her at this point.
More blood drawn this afternoon, was suppose to have a catscan on her neck and face but still no approval from the stupid insurance company. Did I mention I hate insurance companies. She could die from her throat closing off but they don't stinkin care because the policy reads they have 24 hours to decide if they will pay for it or not.
Anyways, pray that Caitlin will find some relief. She has missed to much work and it has been a lousy summer for her so far this year. She needs a little joy in her life.
Thanks.

Still not doing well today but we just got the approval for a catscan tomorrow. About time too! At least she can talk today which is an improvement but the throat is very sore.
C & E,
I will pray for your daughter and you and the rest of the family.
I chose Kaiser Ins. Just Cause of things like that.
I heard that a shot of whiskey in hot lemonaid with a teaspoon of honey will cure allmost anything. Don't take my word on it cause it is an old wifes tale.
Heres hopeing she gets better fast.

Caitlin is going into today for the MRI. Keep praying for her. She feels a little better but her glands in her neck are huge and hard right now. Still hurts like the dickens. Much better spirits.

Got some vague results this morning. She is developing some abcess's and that is all we know. Going to take her to a EN&T specialist and let him have a look at her. Speculation is a little surgery but don't want to put the cart before the horse.
She is feeling much better but her neck glands are still swollen. She did get to work this weekend but she is very tired.

Sounds like a peri-tonsilar abscess. If so, she will need a tonsillectomy. good luck to her:pray:

Hope Caitlin feels better there Bernie - keep us posted OK!
The stuff we have to put up with Insurance companies just boggles my mind - pencil pushers minding to the medical needs of our loved ones - as a pencil pusher that isn't a good idea

She went to see the EN&T doctor and he did another blood test on her and told us he really believes it could be Mono. Should have results hopefully tomorrow. Gave her some steroids for the swelling and more antibiotics for the infection. She's feeling much better but the glands are still pretty firm right now.
Thanks for all the prayers.

Caitlin is feeling much better. Steroids are helping and so are the antibiotics. The second blood test came up negative for mono again so we still have no idea what she had. May test her again later next week.
Thank you again for your prayers. Whatever she has it is very strange.

She seems to be fine now. Two bouts with antibiotics and lots of rest. Tested twice for mono and never a positive result. We may never know what she had.
All of your prayers are appreciated folks. Thank you so much.

Ask the doctors to check for tularemia. Even if she is feeling better. Our son had that two years ago. He was so sick for a month before they figured it out! A very scary time! Good luck and may the road to recovery continue.:pray::pray:
