It started on Tuesday afternoon when my 13 yo daughter had some cramps. My wife and just figured it was normal girl cramps. On Wednesday she was still in a little discomfort but nothing all that bad. She was feeling well enough to go swimming a little. She was having some trouble sleeping that night and the next morning we made an appointment for her at the doctor. My son was home with her during the day, he did a very good job taking care of her. He ended up calling me several times during the day. He called about 2 pm and said she was in a lot of discomfort and feeling sick. I immediately left work and by the time I got home she was starting to get sick.
Her appointment was in the evening and she said she could wait. My wife got home and we left for her appointment about 5:30. We were in to see the doctor about an hour later. They checked her and said she still had no fever but that they were concerned about the pain. They sent us to the emergency room. We got to Legacy Salmon Creek around 8. There was NO ONE in the waiting room. We got right in and the doctor was in to see her in about 15 min!! She was very concerned about where the pain was. She ordered a CAT scan of her abdomen. The results were the she had a perforated appendix. The surgeon was call immediately and arrived about 10 min later. She was ready to go into surgery about 11pm, the plan was to do it laproscopicly. Unfortunately that was not a possibility when the actually got in there.
She has been having some pain since then but is starting to do better. We are hoping she will be feeling good enough to eat by Monday and be home by Wednesday.
She has been planning a trip to Minnesota for a large Girl Scout Jamboree this month. She is scheduled to fly out on the 18th!!! I hope and pray that she will make it. She could use all of the help you can provide. The youth pastor stopped by today and that helped her spirits.
Thanks
