It started on Tuesday afternoon when my 13 yo daughter had some cramps. My wife and just figured it was normal girl cramps. On Wednesday she was still in a little discomfort but nothing all that bad. She was feeling well enough to go swimming a little. She was having some trouble sleeping that night and the next morning we made an appointment for her at the doctor. My son was home with her during the day, he did a very good job taking care of her. He ended up calling me several times during the day. He called about 2 pm and said she was in a lot of discomfort and feeling sick. I immediately left work and by the time I got home she was starting to get sick.
Her appointment was in the evening and she said she could wait. My wife got home and we left for her appointment about 5:30. We were in to see the doctor about an hour later. They checked her and said she still had no fever but that they were concerned about the pain. They sent us to the emergency room. We got to Legacy Salmon Creek around 8. There was NO ONE in the waiting room. We got right in and the doctor was in to see her in about 15 min!! She was very concerned about where the pain was. She ordered a CAT scan of her abdomen. The results were the she had a perforated appendix. The surgeon was call immediately and arrived about 10 min later. She was ready to go into surgery about 11pm, the plan was to do it laproscopicly. Unfortunately that was not a possibility when the actually got in there.
She has been having some pain since then but is starting to do better. We are hoping she will be feeling good enough to eat by Monday and be home by Wednesday.
She has been planning a trip to Minnesota for a large Girl Scout Jamboree this month. She is scheduled to fly out on the 18th!!! I hope and pray that she will make it. She could use all of the help you can provide. The youth pastor stopped by today and that helped her spirits.

Thanks

I'll keep your daughter in my prayers. That must have been so scary for your family. I hope she recovers soon.

I will be praying also, It is good they found out what it is and took care of it quickly...But let me tell you something my friend About 2 mounths ago a friend of ours that belongs to our midweek fellowship, his Brother had the same simptoms and so he took a pain pill, thinking it was stomach cramps that covered up most of the pain, he has pain pills for another injury he had, and he began to black out.

To make a long story short they were away from the nearest Hostpital when they finnaly got there the appendex had just ruptured.
he darn near died, he spent 2 weeks in Hostpital and almost 2 months off work. The Doctor told him that everyones appendex is different he has seen some go for a long while before they can cause serious pain and he has seen some rupture after a short term of pain.

For my 2 cents here I would not worry to much about the Girl Scout get together, thank God she is ok and they took care of it in time.
Lord Bless

Your daughter has my prayers and sympathy. I was 6 years old when my appendix perforated. I was living in Manzanita, OR at the time (June-67). My mother took me to the Wheeler Hospital and the doctor told us that I just had a stomach ache and to go home and quit being a baby.
Two days later, on the way to a drive-in movie in Idaville, I think it was a Herbie the Love Bug movie, I started hurting again REAL BAD. This time my mother drove me into Portland with five other kids in the car and went to Bess Kaiser Hospital on Greeley Ave. They immediately took me into surgery and removed my appendix. It's not the prettiest scar in the world, but it's mine.:D They said another hour and it probably would have been too late. I spent the next three weeks in the hospital before I was finally able to come home. What a cruddy summer!
Anyway, you did good by getting your daughter into see someone as soon as you did. You very well may have saved her life. :applause:
