Bait O' Eggs

Well well, I am gone for a few days and it looks like the ifish soap opera has really been on spin cycle. It will take a while to get caught up. Looks like I might have missed the strippers, Darn images/icons/wink.gif

Anyhoo, I dropped the crab pots in Tillamook and left them there for 3 days. We ended up getting 71 crabs, not a soft one in the bunch. Not hot crabbing, had to work at it, but the family from Wisconsin had a good time.

Met Waterdog Saturday at Netarts and we dug some clams and then went over to Tillamook and watch his dad put the first scratch in that new motion marine boat. I even shed a few tears, still not sure if it was with his pain, or a tear of joy. images/icons/wink.gif images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/rolleyes.gif

We ran that boat out into the ocean and turned around and came back in. I wasnt sure if the sportjet was gonna make it, images/icons/rolleyes.gif I thought if I was pulling it back in on a rope across the bar, Boater would love a photo. images/icons/rolleyes.gif He did fine.

could not believe the bait fish in the bay. Everytime we were pulling crab pots, the little fish were swarming around the boat. Not sure what they were, but they were plentyful. No wonder the fish are not biting.

Eggs you are one classy fellow. Thanks for taking the time to drive out of your way to drop some crabs off. I just finished 2 of them. So what if I just finished a pizza before you got here.... images/icons/smile.gif images/icons/smile.gif

And to think, the wife is allergic to them...

Thanks again. Let me know when you want to fish this week. Need to get you crab bait.

Just wanted to say thanks for a great day! images/icons/grin.gif The family had a great time. I'm sure there will be more scratches to come. Nothing like fresh clams and crabs.

I know you enjoyed watching those pots getting dragged up the side of the boat. It was tears of joy I'm sure. images/icons/rolleyes.gif

It only took an hour and half to get all the seaweed, bait slime, sand, and salt out of the boat. images/icons/tongue.gif Now where did I put that touch up paint? images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/rolleyes.gif

Waterdog, we were using a long handled gaff at newport for grabbing crab ropes one day. The thunderjet hadn't had any scratches yet, and on my boys first pull he ran the tip of the gaff up the side of the boat as he was pulling the rope up. It was a nasty one, but actually a big relief! You should have seen the confused look on his face when I thanked him... Joe
