Any feedback on this business would be appreciated...thinking of going down there to look at a 25-35hp used outboard. Thanks!!!

I've had positive and negative experiences with Sportcraft. If you're a money spending customer, things will go great and you'll be treated well. If not, don't expect the greatest reception.
This has just been my experiences.

Purchased a rebuilt 115hsp motor from them two years ago. Great service, lots of help, friendly people and look at those Wooldridge Boats - WOW! decent warranty and treated me fairly. zip

I cannot say enough good about Sportcraft. i bought a used Honda OB from a private party. The tiller handle broke and I ordered a new one from Honda in Tillamook. They didnt want to put it on so I tried myself. There was a trick to it and I was missing a couple parts. Gregs Marina was no help and acted like they really were not interested. I went to Sportcraft, showed them the handle, They disassembled a new motor, showed me how to reassemble it, sold me $2 worth of parts and then voluntarily printed off the schematic from their book for me, no charge. I told them I know now why they have been in business so long and if I buy a new motor I know where to go. They are 1st in my book. images/icons/smile.gif

When i went to Sportcraft to buy my 15hp Honda(new) I didn't get any help or response from anyone in there till i said "I want one of those"...Then Larry....i think that's his name....was running all over the place for me ! Took it out back and ran it for me and was very nice....then about a year later i went back to get some new cables from him...and he was all ***** like i was wasting his time.

They're not the cheapest for used motors. Actually they're prices are quite high. However they sell a ton of used motors every year. They offer a short warranty on all their used motors. They also go through them before they sell them. Dollar for dollar you would do better out of the paper. Call Tom's Outboard Service too. He's about 2 miles North on 99 from there. Great prices and service. Tom's probably the best outboard mechanic around. No joke.

Great responses...thank you all. I ended up buying a used motor there (before I read all the responses!), just hope he can get it finished before the big tournament. I was very pleased with Larry's customer service, he was very knowledgeable; he was even kind enough to help a friend of mine out in unmounting and selling him a used fin for the lower unit of his outboard. As far as price goes, from the research I did (25hp long shaft with remote), he was right in the ball park. (I call one place in the phonebook, and I ask the guy "Do you have any used 25hp longshaft outboards for sale?" He says (no lie)..."Hummm, well, If I can get the flywheel off this one you can have it." images/icons/shocked.gif images/icons/shocked.gif
I would recommend Larry's service to anyone.
