1-Has anybody been fishing shad above Bonneville? If so where is a good place to anchor?
2-When using shad for sturgeon bait, how do you rig it. Use the whole shad? Chunk it up?
Thanks for the help

dont know about q #1 but for shad...
I rig it up like this: First, cut off all of the fins and the gill plates. I then take the 10/0 hook and put the hook through the head so that the fish will be tail upstream and head downstream. I then make eight slits...four along its back and four along its belly. I then make half hitches along its lateral line and place the hitches in the slits. The slits are only about a quarter inch deep. I then cut off the tail and slit the gills. The best advice I can give is to just make sure that your bait lies flat...that is the key to catching the big guys.
If you want shakers and keepers, just use a strip about a couple of inches long and an inch wide...that should do it for shad...ask any more questions at all. good luck.
