Shad in the channel

I was hoping to take my four year old son Shad fishing on Sunday but was wondering if we will still have luck in the Mult. channel? How long does the shad run last? I dont feel like to going to OC and dealing with crowds while teaching/helping my son.

I checked the fish counts last night and the shad are still going strong, 80,000 some a day went over one day this week. I ancor on the sauvie island side of coon island which is between johnsons landing and St Helens. Just above the Gilbert river inlet to the channel. Use red/white or red/silver Dick knights or lucky knights. Might not hurt to keep a couple colors available like green or chartruse.

I took my wife and 8 year old there a week or so ago and they caught fish till their arms were sore and they had to stop.
