Lost a good friend this weekend. Marcia Davis use to work for me as an accountant. She was a faithful employee and really a good friend even after she left my business 5 years ago. We often traded her fresh garden produce for some fresh fish and let me tell ya it was always a good trade. Jams, jellies, coblers, it's no wonder I weigh what I do.
Marcia died in her sleep when a blood clot moved from her leg and into her lungs and heart. This was a very unexpected, untimely death as Marcia was still young. She was 54 years old.
Marcia's older brother proceeded her in death as well as her father just a few years ago. She leaves behind her 82 year old mother whom is not well and her 30 year old Son Brian. I spoke with Brian yesterday and he still was in complete shock and said that his grandmother was not handling this well at all. I shed a tear after hanging up and it breaks my heart to know she is gone. I am thankful that she did not suffer long though and if you are going to go, in your sleep is the time.
Send a few prayers to her Mother Leona Kolb. She is going to need it this week. Marcia's funeral is Friday at 10am and that would be a really good time to pray as it will be the closure time, finality of it all.
