I was talking with a BLM fellow and he mentioned that there is a place to put in below Clarno about half way to Cottonwood, making the trip more like a 30 mile float. Does anyone know of this put in, and how to get there. I understand there is a $10 per person fee along with a $15 or $20 boat fee. Can anyone give me a clue about this put in??

The mouth of 30 Mile is 20 miles WSW of Condon. From there, it's 40 river miles to the Cottonwood Bridge. The road starts about a mile south of Condon. There's another access that starts about two miles north of Mayville.
I don't know about any fees involved; a call to the BLM otta clear that up.
I have a topo map of the area in my computer but the file's too big to attach.

Yeah, we put in there last year. It's a long winding dirt road with a creek crossing so make sure your not in a low riding car. You'll have to pay to get the gate key. I'll try to get that number for you. You might try calling a sporting goods shop in Condon if they have one. Puts you on the downstream side of Clarno rapids so that's nice.

Thanks for the note on that. I am trying to set up a trip for my brother and my grandsons for when school is out next spring. I will see if I can find a number there in Condon to call.
