Well i have this fishing hole that is surrounded by private land i think well on google maps i have looked really closely and i dont believe it is privately owned. How could i find this out for sure? I just want an updated map to look and see if its public cuz i think the guy is full of !#$#. Also is it legal to access through private land to get to state land that is surrounded without having permission to trespass? Kind of like retrieving harvested game that goes on to private land cuz i know that is legal.

I would ask a title company or get a BLM map (if it's around BLM land). If it's a river, it is sometimes legal to use the bank up to the high-water line. I don't know about this specific situation, but usually you can't walk over somebody's land unless there's an easement. (A title company can tell you whether there is).
