My son Tyler has been begging me lately to take him Bass fishing, so we took a late trip up to Hyatt Lake on Saturday evening. On his second cast he got a hit on his crankbait and "missed it". He continued reeling, got another hit on the same cast and this one stayed on. When he got it to the boat the first fish he "lost" was still on and so was the second one!! Two fish on the same crankbait:meme:

A short time later he caught this fattie too. A shade over 2 lbs. I was getting bit quite a lot, but nothing of any size. Not to be outdone and have to hear about it until our next trip, I switched to an 8 inch AC plug. I figured if anything was going to hit that, it would have to be huge..........Not  The first fish that hit it was about half as long as the plug.........What was he thinking???? I was running out of time and I stopped reeling momentarily to adjust the boat when a pretty good fish hit. I knew immediately it was bigger. I got him up and he was 2 lbs 12 oz on the digital scale. Not a monster, but definitely saved me from some ribbing by my 12 year old. Sorry, no pics of that one. It was raining and getting pretty dark by then.
