I'd like to get my wife into some good panfish action. Does anyone have any lake/spot suggestions for the SW Washington area? I'd like to stay within an hour of Vancouver on the Washington side.

Thanks!

I fished lackamas Lake one time in a club tournament, which I won- thank you, thank you very much. One thing I noticed while I was blind-lucking into a Largemouth here and there were bluegills EVERYWHERE. I kept telling myself to come back here sometime and fish for them, then I would tell myself it's not healthy to talk to myself, and then........

Silver lake has plenty of them if you can find them.
This wasn't my first time fishing this lake, but only the first time I got a goose egg on panfish.
We fished the south wind and rain saturday from the south shore across from the Resort all the way to canals on the east end of the lake.
We got a couple of yellow perch to bite, one nice carp, but couldn't find the crappie or bluegill.

Unfortunately...I had the same luck for crappie and bluegill on Silver. In Lacamas, I haven't found the panfish yet either, but I sure would like to as it's just 5 minutes from my house.

Thanks for the input...maybe we should get together and flush these fish out!

I did catch a nice largie on Lacamas last Friday morning:

mark i was just out there this last weekend. right now is super hot for bluegill they are spawning and just about to pop! you can catch 50 - 100 in a day no problem. start at timber point. use a bobber and a worm and a small split shot. have your bobber about 1-2 feet above your hook. carnine ditch is also holding alot, atleast thats what roger said. i just finished up a nice fish fry. you need to get atleast 2 or 3 containers of worms though. im going out again next weekend with jon and some friends camping. when you going?

There's a slim chance of next Sunday, but most likely the Saturday followign (21st). They'll probably have spawned by then.

Great job though. I was telling my wife how yummy the little bluegill fillets were, so I'm sure you had a nice BBQ tonight. Good for you Anthony!

We have to hook up again soon. I'm CERTAIN it'll be better luck than the optimism of that February morning!
