Made it out to Odell today and met new ifisher Davy who drove 3 hours from Silverton to fish with me. Beautiful calm morning. Got on the water at 6:30 and thanks to Aufish we knew where to start jigging for kokes. Got 10 in about 1 1/2 hours on pink and orange jigs. We decided that was enough for dinner and time to fish for macks. Davy is a pro guide who has never mack fished. We switched gear and sent down a herring and a Lyman. I immediately got a strike, but he got off half way up. About half an hour later I nailed this guy.

Just under 30" and about 10-11 pounds.
We fished for another couple hours and the wind and rain started, then Davy got this guy.

About 6 pounds. The bite stopped, so did the rain and wind so we trolled koke gear around the west end for another hour or 2 and added 1 more.
A great day on the water with a new ifish friend.:applause:

Thanks for the report. I guess I will have to take some herring with me when I go week after next. What color of herring were you using?

It's kinda of a tossup , but I think it was better than pulling weeds , huh?

Sure enjoyed it, learned sumthin new. Put a new person in the "friend" side of the balance sheet. great boat launch, facilities. Would/will make the drive again in a heartbeat.

The herring we used were bright and silvery with a scaled outcoat, slightly fishy to the palate, with a strong gutty finish.

Thanks Fish On,
