Where are some good spots to fish the Multinoma (SP) Channel?

I would like to get my son and wife into some fast action like shad or crappie. Maybe a little sturegeon action.

I've heard that Coon Island and Kelly point have productive holes.

Any advice would be welcome,

Almost all the water in front of the Coon
Island Marina and in between Coon Island.
(right side going downstream) is all dandy shad water.

Ther is a nice sturgeon hole at Kelley Point and it gets a lot of pressure. The other thing is you might want to check for ship departures in the Oregonian. When the tugs come out to guide the ships they get real nasty about fishing boats within 100 yards of the ship channel. It can be upsetting to the wife and kids getting yelled at by the tug crews. images/icons/confused.gif
