I am fairly new to navigating the multinoma (SP) channel. My question is: Where are the no wake zones. I thought they were anywhere house boats were located, but I have seen boats blow by them like it was no big deal. I noticed bouys and the boats did not go between the bouys and the house boats. What is acceptable. I don't want to get in trouble or wast time gettin' to the fishing grounds images/icons/confused.gif .
Thanks in advance,

Great question Mr. Fisherman....I would also like to know the answer.
Bob
You can bomb through the no wake zones in front of the house boats if you are 200' away from no wake zone signs. Or maybe it is in front of the houseboats??
In the cannel I bet it is tought to get that far away. You still might get yelled at by the houseboat owners, little do some of them know a small boat throws less wake at full tilt boogie, than at 5mph.
This is what I was told be Johnny in the green boat.

Its 200 ft away from docks or houseboats but in the channel the enforcement people told me to stay on the far side what ever distance that was. The no wake buoys are the official no wake zone as allowed by the state so as not to interfere with the navigable channel. If you are outside the buoys your legal but the more distance the better. There are a few places where you cannot fully comply so I just take them slow. images/icons/grin.gif

Thanks for the replies! images/icons/grin.gif
I will play by the rules. Makes me a little nervous getting close to those pilings. I've seen a few dead heads that could cause trouble images/icons/shocked.gif.
Don't want to cause any trouble.
any tips on good fishing spots?
I'd like to get the wife and kid into some shad or sturgeon. I've heard that the shad are good around Coon Island and sturgeon are productive around Kelly point. Any tips would be welcome.

Mr. Fisherman...looks like you're onto the situation. I have heard of folks being "cited" for not observing these no wake areas. Heads up!!
