I wanted to let you all know that I am Not pleased with our friends at the Fishery, I know many of you are not pleased as well.

They charge more for launching than any other ramp in the state of Oregon. They have not improved the ramp, lot, docks ( all the expossed nails, steel dock hinges). I hereby boycot the Fishery! until they inprove their facilities, I know they built a great new store but the shack worked just fine. They needed to spend the money ont the other items.

I can launch at Rooster Rock and fish my way up river or just Jet~~~ up to my favorite hole up river first. Rooster Rock has a sheltered bay for launching (limited wind), and great docks availiable, for $3.00 and they patrol the lot for non-payers so I feel rigs might be safer. The trip from Rooster Rock plus the trip cost less than the launch fee at The Fishery. Sunday we jettted~~~ up and the river was blown out,but above Rooster much calmer, 9 shakers and a fat 51".

Or for the guy that does not need dock Dalton point is closer and free, but free is not always free. The lost is not patrolled and I have heard that rigs can be targets for loosers.

Just to rap up, If anybody does frequent the Fishery let them know the public is not happy.

Jet dito. I'm the same way. I did find out according to them that they ar enot allow to build up there anymore because of the gorge scenic area whatever that means. They do over cahrge for the crappy ramp that they have. I will probably continue to us tha launch though its just quicker and that river can beat the hell out of you when it gets blowing. I iwll not buy anything else there though.

I feel that using the Gorge senic area excuse is just a bunch of.... more gravel and bladeing the road once or twice will not detract from the Gorge beauty. How about this fix up the docks they look like the Salmon cannerys docks 20 years after they closed them.

I'm with ya jet! Last time I was up there was with my wife and son. I had to get the truck and leave the boat at the dock. As I got the trailer backed into position some guy started "helping" my wife move the boat around the corner of the dock to try to shove it onto the trailer and just gouged the everlovin' $#!* out of the side on nails sticking out. Now I have some real nice line cutting burrs on the side. Rooster rock for me from now on.

Aye, do you have a TJ or a NR? Green? If so I have fished next to you at one time or the other over the last two weekends.

I have the Green Weldcraft.

I agree. This place has caused more damage to my boats and trailers over the years than anywhere else in Oregon. Refuse to use or pay the Southern immigrants anymore. Not to mention the doughballs who park their boats inside the launch either launching or retrieving so no one else can maneuver off or on the trailer, without banging boats, especially in the wind, which is almost always up there. Put a receipt in your window and never pay them is my vote. Seven and a half and they can't even nail some old tires up everywhere!?

I too have decided to quit using this dump! The final nail in the coffin was about three weeks ago when I went to pay at the store and the ***** with the salt and pepper hair who drives the Chevy P.U. took mine and others money and was very rude with all of us, I told her she was I real sweetheart. When I came back to load my boat, low and behold I had a flat tire on the trailer!
This craphole will never see me again!

I've emailed the UP RR about their MAJOR
safety hazard crossing. Everyone should
do the same for their access road. images/icons/wink.gif

I totally agree that the Fishery is a dump. I'm planning on going out fishing tomorrow and launch from Rooster Rock. How deep is the channel out to the river? My boat has a prop so is it best to cross over to the Washington side and then head up river following the channel? Or is the river deep enough along the Oregon side? I have a depth sounder but don't want any surprises that show up too late.

Hey jet,
I have a green NR, the one that's looking kind of beat up! I think the last time I was at bonneville was the 12th, fished over on the Wa. side most the day near horsetail falls. I look for ifish stickers all the time but don't ever seem to pick them out for some reason. I'll keep my aye out for ya!

You mean your supposed to pay at the Fishery? The first couple of times I fished there I didn't think you had to pay. Until I went in the store. I still don't pay and haven't had any problems. Well I think I paid a couple of times and I didn't leave any receipt on the dash. OOPS! I do agree. It su**s. How long does it take to run up from Rooster Rock? I saw and add in the Oregonian and the feds or the state was looking to buy property up there and it said that the property had to have water access. Maybe a state boat ramp?

Have fun fishing!!

Jawbreaker - right click on any picture or graphics on the board. Then click properties. This shows you the URL of the graphic. Most come from free animated GIF sites. Do the same when you find something you want to post. Right click, find properties, copy the URL and then paste it into the image window after you click the image button. Looks like Boater found them.

Fishery, hey guys come on. My first experience was fine .....
$7.00 dollars to launch. free 1/2 mile walk to park my truck, and a bonus 1/2 mile walk back to my boat, one broken light on my trailer from the guy who wanted to say Hi by running in to my trailer, up over the fender, and lets not forget all the free
scrathes down one whole side of my boat. from the dock . And the friendly people at the store.
Waiting for 9 other boats to launch. This
isnt normal ! haha Back to rooster rock
or dalton. 15 minutes of cruising to a spot
sounds like fun again. Cheaper too !

You guys took the words right out of my mouth. The lady at the register, If you want to stretch the truth and call her a lady, is always rude, the lots cramped, the docks are the worst I have ever seen, and the launch fee is downright laughable. Who do they think they are. They obviously think they are the only launch around. I wont go there, The sides on my 2000 silverwing are too pretty to destroy in one launch at "The Fishery". BOYCOT.

Fished today out of north Bonneville, what a pleasure. No fee, easy run. No bit*** store clerks. Oh yeah caught a little over 50 shad in a couple hours. Fished oversize in the morning hooke done and lost it, bite was slow where we were so off to the shad we went. images/icons/smile.gif

you can get there 2 ways either 14 on the Wa side or 84 via bridge of gods. I'm not sure but I think the ramp he's referring too is the state ramp. to get there from BOG go left onto 14 go by the dam and there is a turn off down by the towers. Keep to the right and follow the signs. the ramps kinda steep and the waters kinda quick but its free. For the Wa side go out 14 through the towns of camas and washougal and continue on through the actual town of N. bonny(stop at the store by the train tracks for bfast or gear) there is also another store in the little bit of houses right before the dam by the golf course. anywaykeep going until you see the big orange towers and take a right and follow the signs.....

Hope that is the right launch but it will still get your boat wet even if it isn't.
