I just recently finished up my open water certifications for scuba diving and got the chance this past weekend to do a little crab catching. Talk about fun, I've done it for years with pots, rings and wadding but underwater there are litterly hundreds of crabs waiting to be caught. Just swim up crab them and toss em in your bag-they don't even try to pinch you. The six of us ended up with 28 keepers wich provided plenty of good eating for about 8 or 10 people. It was a fairly long walk (1/4 mile) in full gear and another 2 hundred yard surface swim before dropping down but with the nice weather it went well.

Yup. Crabbing with scuba is criminal (easy, that is). Actually, it can be - just make sure you follow the regs closely.

I stopped crabbing in the Puget Sound after I found out how truly toxic those little buggers really are. Hmmm, heavy metals.
