I was at a picnic the other day on Sauvie Island. Are there any fish in those ponds? I saw lots of newly hatched stuff in a pond. Threw a senko without any strikes. It seems like that place would be sick with bass. Anybody have any info? Getting to some of those ponds is a pain!

Depends on what ponds you are talking about. Where were you fishin'?

You know, I don't remember the names. The first pond we hit was on a road that went out to Sturgeon Lake. It was on a road that went off to the right, on the way to this trout pond that I saw some people on. I stopped at that intersection because the pond looked promising. I saw some small fry hanging out near shore. There are some benches that are scattered along the shore line. I'm not sure if this helps.

there is hadleman (sp?) pond on the road to sturgeon lake. it has stocked trout and panfish in it. i think webster is the other one on that road. never fished webster but my dad used to take us to hadleman pond all the time. there are tons of bass and other warmwater fish in the sloughs on oak island after you go through the gate.
