Is ther a boat ramp at Timothy where a large
inboard sled can be launched safely? Is there a speed limit on the lake?

There are a number of ramps on that lake. I think most of them are in the campgrounds and One of them by the dam. I also remember something about a 10mph limit on that lake but never seen anything posted on it. Beware of skeeter's!!!!

Yes there is a speed limit on Timothy, and it is STRICTLY enforced. Saw three boats get ticketed on a Sat morn.
Windy, windy, windy. And the fishing sucks, at least it did when I went.

Tanner - I launched my 18 foot duckworth with an outboard with no problem a few years ago. I load the wife and took off across the lake. It was my first trip to this lake and I wanted to see it all. I made a big lap around the lake. I got down by one end and a group of 4 canoe's gives me the finger, images/icons/mad.gif so I give it back and go on my way. images/icons/mad.gif It was not until I got back to the dock did I see the 4 ft by 8 ft sign that had the 10 mph speed limit. I have no idea how I missed this billboard sized sign. I was way wide of the canoes but they were telling me slow down I guess. images/icons/rolleyes.gif I felt bad about going to fast after I got educated.

Tanner, Timothy has several boat ramps, a couple should be open now, the one I use with my 20' Alumaweld is Pine Point next to the catwalks, best because it is steeper, and easier to get in the front of the boat afterward, watch out for the rocks on both side...left a little aluminum on both..the other ramps are very shallow, one time I had water coming in the door and still hadn't floated it...see instant graemlins Eeek!..as for fishing the go to bait right now is crayfish....babies drifted along the bottom..the really big fish brookie, browns and rainbows into the #'s hit now...not many but when you do...a real wallhanger, Rebel lures like the tiny craw with some crayfish sent drives the hold overs nuts...try infront of the Oak Grove fork where it flows into the lake...later #8 black wooly buggers are the next best thing. later in the evening T.D. caddis in orange or yellow..can get top water action...patience! And I Want IT NOW!!!!! have fun, Steve

are the rubber trout they plant there really that appealing that you'd go to the bother of trailering a 20 ft boat all the way up there? Too little reward for me to even drive there with my float tube, but thats just me.

Those brookies are tasty up there, living on the crustacean diet.

Rob,
It's not the rubber trout I am interested in. I used to take my driftboat up there all the time and catch some big-ass fish out of there. Most people don't realize it, but besides the brookies, rainbows and browns, there is also cutthroat in there that get around 10 lbs. I know, I have caught them. Besides that, I also want to come home with a crawfish feast.
If the "rubber trout" are all you can catch up there, then maybe you should spend some time and learn how to fish the lake. images/icons/rolleyes.gif
