Anyone getting any summer steelhead above No. Fork dam on Clackamas yet? If so how far up?

ODFW no longer plant summers above the dam. They do not let them go past the dam either. They are trapped and trucked back down river for another run back up.

David,
Do you know why that is? I really miss fishing up there. We used to go up there and have 10 - 20 fish days just fishing vibraxes and panther martins.

The only fish they let go above the dam are natives. They do this so that the hatchery fish dont compete with and breed with the natives. There are quite a few rivers that have this type of system on them. It is to try and restore the native runs. I know the Kalama is also this way, no hatchery fish above the upper hatchery.
