Cape Mears Lake

My brother and I are heading down to fish Cape Mears Lake this weekend with our kids. We both are fairly clueless when it comes to knowing what to use and how to rig up the poles.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what works best and possibly where to target the rainbow's? We have a small aluminum boat to get around in. Are the fish typically on the bottom or close to the top? Should we troll or anchor fish?

Any information would be much appreciated.

We have had some luck casting spinners off the rocks between the bay and the lake. Power bait near the put in works sometimes too.
I have always wanted to try bass and or crappie fishing in that lake, looks like the right place for it.
Good luck, let us know how you do. We will be spending the weekend camping at Cape Lookout for Fathers day, and would love to get a report.
