So its going on a couple weeks now of no smoking and I tell you I feel pretty good about this. No more stink no more gving my money to the mini-mart guy and guess what on top of that I gave up drinking at the same time after doing so daily for 10 years. I did not drink lightly I drank alot like a fish it wasnt really causing problems but boy it was a cycle of being sick and tired always and most of the time I would rather drink by myself. I 100% think that Ifish was the turning point for me and why? I think it was the fact that I was able to concentrate on what ive loved since a child FISHING and when im not fishing im either busy with the family or reading threads to better my fishing. It also helped to be able to find my religion again and be able to talk and read about other people who have a strong faith ive even been thinking of attending a church if i can find one that does not require dress up. My life was surrounded by people who would laugh and heckle me for even mentioning me being a guy who worships the good lord. This has been one heck of a couple weeks for me and I kind of feel like im driving with a blindfold on not knowing my destination. Im feeling real good about everything right now and I dont have the foreign crap in my body. Thank you ifsh and thanks to everyone who said a prayer for my to stop smoking. Im in debt to you all

Sounds like my life, except I didn't give up both at the same time. WOW !! I always thought that the first two weeks were by far the toughest and that I made it over a hump at that point . What a wonderful feeling to get those monkeys off your back. I will pray that you are led to a church that is free and Loves Jesus ! Watch out for those that will tell you that certain things are required, Jesus has no requirements other than that He wants you to have a relationship with Him and spend time with Him. Thanks for your sharing this , it helps me to remember what He has done for me. I will pray for your continued success, awesome job !:wave:

Excellent! Thanks for the great news. I will continue praying for you. Our pastor reminds us that God dosn't ask us to dress up, just show up. Its easy for folks to get into the dress up mind set. Summer is great- seeing all the guys show up in church in shorts and Hawaii shirts.

WRF.
Way to go, Now one thing I want you to remember is if you slip and have a smoke or drink the battle is NOT LOST, its just a little flesh wound and will heal very quickly. Chin up and keep a stiff upper lip, as my Dad would say.
Your family I'm sure is behind you 100% and I think I can talk for all here on anglers chapel We are walkinking beside you holding you up in Prayer.
One day at a time dear Jesus, thats all I am asking from you.

Pm RP - Ryan Pultz - He atends a great church in Milwaukie, friendly people, Pastor is a great speaker and preaches the word of God per the Bible. Can't go wrong atending there. I visit quite often and always uplifted by the message,I do come away with bloody toes quite often as the Holy Spirit is there stomping on my toes.
