Was down fishin with the brother the other day and decided to throw some small jigs around some pilings and wood structure to dial in on some Crappie. Caught this nice one right away

Wasn't Huge, but was alot bigger than tha average size that we've been catching.

It should be a given, but just in case,... Yes all the fish we catch in the Willamette were released..with the occasional Springer if we get that fortunate.

yes I have been getting nice ones from our local slogs below the falls while targeting bass this weekend I came up with some very respectable crappie :food: I realy wish I had the nerve to eat it being from the willy and all- I had to through it back. I love the quickness of the fish on my ultra ultra light rig that I use on willy for bass and carp when I walk the dog. I like to cast 1/8 wt roster tails w/no weight in pumpkin and oil can black and brown.
Are you referring to mercury pollution when you are apprehensive about eating fish from the lower Willy? I had been thinking the river was a lot cleaner than it used to be. I dont eat them either in my area for the same reason, but sometimes I wonder how much of a problem there really is! DJD

Yeah, if i ever keep any to eat, it'll be from a lake.... Like Tenmile or something
