Welcome aboard, quite away to start your second post off. 15lbs, Washington or Oregon? That crushes both records. I am not trying to be a hard , I will believe it when I see it! Better have a scale and some mearsurements. Welcome aboard, quite away to start you second post off. I hope it is not like all of the other 7lb largemouth in the Willamette post we have seen lately.

I would love to see a new record anything, but posting without substantiating it first is asking for a lot of grief.....................Especially if it falls short.

I can see you're going to make friends on here quickly :hoboy:

I haven't seen anyone dispute it.......yet. I think everybody just wants to see a picture or have some measurements.

Maybe try posting the story of how it was caught, where it was certified etc.

Hey jake!

I'm not a bass fisherman and really not much of a fisherman at all...although I love fishing. I can tell you that there's no hate involved in any of the replies to your post. There's been a lot of false claims in the past of different records on ifish. These guys just don't want to be burned again and will be the first to congratulate your friend if he caught a record fish! Just want a verification, that's all.

Here's the Oregon state record and we hope that your friend shattered it!

Largemouth Bass / 12 1.6 lbs/ Ballenger Pond/ Springfield, Oregon

Well put as always, Roger. Jake, there are a few things you might want to know. We are a tight-knit group of friends that have been sharing bass fishing information with each other for a number of years on here, now. We would be thrilled if you would join us. However, when you start off with a post like that, were naturally going to be slightly skeptical. Claiming that your buddy caught a fifteen pound bass but none of us have heard anything about it is pretty much like when Timmy Aubrey told us his dad had a "Bigfoot" trapped in his garage. Timmy said he would show us, but he "didn't feel like it". There are about as many fifteen pound bass here in Oregon as there are bigfoots: maybe some, probably none. We average about three posts a year that are almost identical to yours and the results have always been the same so forgive us if we're just a little skeptical. Since posting false fishing reports is a violation of ifish rules, maybe it would be a good idea to post a picture or some details, that way, we wouldn't have to all be a bunch of haters. Welcome aboard, we anxiously await your pictures. If we don't hear from you again, we'll know why.

I'm still new to ifish, but not to Bass fishing. What kind of scale did he use? Over 15lbs............if true. We have our own lake and have caught some very large Bass, but 15lbs??? I'll have to see it to believe it. That should make big news. If he plays it right that fish could be worth alot.

That's about the most sure fire way to get to have to eat your words ;). Otherwise just give him some time, not everyone feels like visiting the computer during the weekend. Besides it'll be clear as next week progresses whether or not he's blowing smoke or if there's something to it.

Hunter9, sure its unlikely, but like Bassinator said, ... nothing wrong with giving a guy a chance. Which this board is supposed to be for.. so why not keep the positive attitude.. Its not these guys "got burned" or whatever term people wish to use for it... Its that they actually have faith in others and are willing to give people a chance.

and yes, AGAIN, some jack hole decided to ATTEMPT to be funny by posting something like that. I'm really not sure WHAT he was trying to do. ?? Sounds like the poor guy just needed attention. I agree what a cheesy way to get it. But then again, look at the way some of the people try and get attention. That's what it all comes down to. Its really unfortunate that there are people that are that THIS strapped for attention.
After looking at the only posts that this Moniker has made, I don't see him/it lasting much longer and would actually hope that it is booted off the board. Nothing positive, nothing helping others, and not a good attitude to be exemplified on ifish.

Oh well, life goes on, and we go fish. :smash:

Dave is right on! Some one just got over heated after catching a four pounder. We will never see photos from the story tellers. it has not been in any papers or on T.V. That would be BIG news, but no one has seen the fish or even a PHOTO. I would like to see such a grand site as a 15 pound OREGON bass, now that would make one heck of a photo! If I did see the photo I would then ask who caught that bass in california and then dragged it up to Oregon? :smash:

This has been the most retarded waste of time, both the original post and the replies. Who cares? If it's bogus, why waste time calling it out? Shouldn't it be so obviously a hoax that it doesn't merit a reply? Why am I even wasting my time saying this? I don't honestly know. I guess I somehow feel I must have less time to waste than you guys who sit there checking this silly stuff out every day. Go fish or something. That's my plan. Talking about this for one more second seems like something for someone with serious boredom issues. Now if someone has a sharp pencil, I'd like to stick it in my eyes, please.
