Wednesday was a such a nice day couldn't resist, so i thought i'd go out for some fishing with a buddy. Caught this baby around 7pm with green dotted outlaw tubes, 16 and half inch weighing in barely 3lbs this fish looks small in picture, when i gutted this baby for dinner it had eggs. extra bonus :food:

Done it Again, why is having eggs in a fish a bonus? I guess you don't like fishing for bass much because if you did you would throw back the fish that have eggs. I don't care if you keep some bass to eat, but why even chance it this time of year. Wait until summer when the small fish are abundant. You will not get a favorable response here if you are going to be eating spawning fish. Just an FYI:passout:

i must of not read all of his post, no wonder...i do admit
we had to keep a 3 pounder one day full of eggs cause it swallowed
my lipless and after surgery, was unable to recusitate it.

You make me look really bad for saying that. *** do you want me to do cut his stomac open and see if there is eggs inside? and if there was what you want me to do throw it back into the river?

one bass is not gonna hurt the river, and not every single female will spawn each year. leave the rookie alone cause he hardly ever catches a fish. He's just hungry.

Welcome aboard! Looks like you and bassking fish the same spot. Disregarding the catch and release argument, there's a health advisory on those fish (see regs.) Traditionally, new members share an introductory fish story, so please do. Maybe one that doesn't involve smallmouth roe, though.

How does that make me look bad for gutting the fish and to find out that it had eggs? Don't say anything if you don't have nothing better to say. Noob don't get owned because you just made yourself look bad for saying that. Fish on buddy catch a big one, and have a nice day. :smash:

are you bass donkeys arguing over the size of that fish ....?
its small... even if it is 4 pounds big deal? just enjoy the pic and chill out
If you all get a chance to go fish some real bass water canoe up in the boundary waters of mn and canada you can catch 4 and 5 pound fish sometimes 20 to 30 a day and then release them all bass taste like crap anyway unless you pull them through the ice in january and if you get hungry fill your stringer with crappies and pan fry them over your campfire while your sipping a few cold ones and i bet those cold ones will be schmidts''...lol
chill out this site is not for bickering and go catch some non glowing migratory if your hungry... lol lol:wave::meme:

Great: another salmon fisherman telling us how easy is it to catch a four pound smallmouth. I know you guys get tired of this question, but WHY DON'T YOU GO CATCH ONE, THEN? he he. Bad news, though: smallmouth don't die after spawning ONE time or get EATEN everytime someone catches one, so you might be dealing with a fish that has actually seen a lure before- can you handle that?

What does it matter to you what his fish weighs anyway? JT You're on a fishing board asking why the weight of a fish is important? P.S. Since you're new, feel free to post an introductory fish story. Something tells me it won't be about an average fish that you caught.

Hey skroverjd: I once hooked a bass that ripped off like 4 inches of drag- then I realized that I had just forgotten to tighten it - he he. What can I say. You got me on that one!

Yes I understand that weight matters, but if it is not contesting a state record it really doesn't matter. Not enough to call them a liar.
A story huh?
I had three halves of worms left while fishing the other day. I was on the Willy and it had been a few hours without any action. So I told myself "lets make these worms count." So I walked around the cove that I was fishing and saw a nice looking shelf about six feet from shore it look like a nice spot for a bass to hide. So I tossed my bobber set up into the dark water and BAM!! a nice SM bass! after I released that one I baited up again and cast around the same area and BAM I caught a different nice SM bass. After I let that one go, I again baited up and cast in a slightly diff area and again BAM!! I caught three bass on three worms in about thirty min. I have a video of one of them on a thread called New to bass fishing. I didn't try to guess the weight but I would say two were over 2LBS and one was a little guy. I was out of worms so I went and got more and came back to catch a few more. I had a ton of fun. I was alone so the Cell vid and some other pics I will post later are my only evidence. Check it out!
