Shear pin failure.

I hit something today and my shear pin didn't break. My prop quit spinning like it had a broken pin though. I pulled the pin and prop w/o a problem and then noticed the berring behind the prop was chewed up. Are these berings motor specific or are they some what generic. Am I gonna pay an arm and a leg for an older prop bering? Any advice would be great, thanks.:pray:

What you saw was not a bearing , but a bushing for your prop . Just remove the rest of the bushing off your output spline and bring your prop and splined piece of bushing to the outboard dealer and he should fix ya right up...:wave: Barney

Fixed it for cheap, boat part prices usualy scare me. Thanks for your help, gotta go put the hooks in the water. :cheers:
