With a new Merc Optimax 150.
Anything I should know or issues to be aware of?
Of course, I'll get it surveyed but want to know if anyone has feedback, positive or negative.
Thanks,
Dan

I had a 1989 19ft Bayliner, not a Trophy, and it served me well for 16 years. I was going to sell it but waited a little too long. The gas tank sprung a leak. The est cost to fix was 2500, tear up the glass floor, re glass it, a new tank was 800 bucks, labor etc.. The fix was more than it was worth. So, I bought a new NR. NR gave me 1500 for it. After looking into how much it was to fix, I was informed that older Bayliners had a metal gas tank that was thin walled and would eventually spring a leak, some shifting against the hull, friction, salt water etc. The gas tank issue may not apply to yours as it is newer. Something to ask about. Otherwise, a friend has one of the 18' Trophys, I think it is newer and he likes it. Pretty roomy for its size. I fished out of tillamook in it, across the bar and it handled the water pretty well.

I have a 1996 1802 Trophy with a 120 Force. The only complaint that I have with it is the size of the cockpit. It can fish 2 very well however anymore than that can get crowded. We have had her in the ocean quite a few times fishing halibut, rockfish, lings, salmon... Always very stable.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

A boat from 1994 should have a poly tank, not metal.
