Maybe you guys can help me.
I'm thinking about getting a shaky head jig mould...but since I'm the type of guy that likes multi-purpose tools, I thought I'd get a Road Runner mould and pour some of them and then switch hooks to the long shank shakeys and pour w/o the swivel for the RR blade. I also thought I could switch to a smaller hook and pour some crappie jigs with it as well. Was also thinking I could use the heavy shakeys as swimbait jigs for walleye. And the RR for curly tail grubs.
So what are you thoughts? Would a RR mould be blanced right for a shakey...or does it not matter? And do you think it would pour ok with smaller hooks for the crapie jigs?
At $40/mould I'd like to get my mileage out of it and pour several jigs using it.
Links to moulds and thoughts appreciated. Thought maybe I could repay Clayton in jigs for his generousity in sharing tackle.

Do-It Jig Moulds: http://www.do-itmolds.com/category2.aspx?c=7
This is what I was thinking: Horse Head & Pony Head Jig (http://www.do-itmolds.com/prodmolds.aspx?c=52)
Good sizes avaliable in this mould. I could just clip off the horse head for use as a Shakey.
The only question is can I find long shank 90o hooks for it?
Or I could forget trying to use the RR jig and just go with the Shakey.
Opps, I just realized one problem... the shakey jig has a 45o eye.
Probably won't work for crappie since crappie need the jig absolutely horizontal. And it probably won't work as a steelhead jig for the same reason. Hummm.
Clayton, how important do you feel it is that the shakey jig be 45o to standup? Do you really think it's THAT important? It doesn't strike me as it would rteally stand-up anyway...more likely it falls on it's side anyway.
Seems like an Erie jig would be a better fit, but I don't see it avaliable in 1/16oz.
And how big a deal is the 90 degree twist on the eye?
I'm kinda liken this one: Worm Nose Jig (http://www.do-itmolds.com/prodmolds.aspx?c=233) But I'm a little concerned about the small hook sizes.

I don't think that mold would work to well for the shakey head. most folks use round or football head jig heads, something that will lay flat.
Comeon Mike don't be cheap. Buy them all.

But Cliff....you don't know how many moulds I ALREADY have.
Add in all those darned halibut ball moulds....and OUCH!
Don't ya know...I'm trying to cut back.
To bad my Erie mould doesn't go smaller...I think that would be just fine if they were 1/16oz.
But my mould doesn't go below 1/4oz.

You would be better off just using a round ball jig head instead off those molds. You want a shakey head mold that will stand the worm up. Don't be thrifty and get the mold you need to do the job. :twocents: Then I can borrow it because I don't have one.
