I went to Crescent today as well. Met up with Brian(FallRiverGuy) and his son-in-law Alex and fished Crescent in my boat. Got on the water by 6AM. Already a bit windy, it blew medium- to kinda- nasty all day. Got 8 to the boat, kept 6 all about 13-16". Met Raidersteve67 on the water about 9AM. By 11 the armada had thinned out pretty good and I even ran a herring for macks for an hour or so after seeing them on the bottom all day. No takers though. The reports I heard at the ramp at 3:30 were 4, 5, and our 6. The bite cooled off about 8 or 9 with lots of short strikes early. A good day and good company and fresh kokanee for dinner. The yard work will still be there tommorrow.
Raidersteve67 how did you do. We didn't see you after that one time?

Joe,
Thanks for the report. I'll probably be hitting it next week.

Three of us limited on Fri. & Sat. Using the 4/0 Dodger - two hook pink hootchie rig- marinated corn - red Pautzke eggs. Running 25-40' off downrigger. Sun. was windy but managed 8 by 11am when we quit.
Anyone see any mosquitos? Had a mack chew up a whole 8" herring at 125' but no take - marked a bunch.

Thanks for the ride Joe. I am glad we were in your bigger boat and not mine with the cold windy conditions. It sure was slow. I tried a lot of new stuff that did not work. An orange Apex and a homemade red wedding ring type spinner seem to account for the most bites. A pink hoochies got one as did a red hoochie. I thru a lot of different orange colored lures at them with no luck.

Way to go on those big ones JC! Any rhyme or reason as to what accounted for the big ones? For us, it seemed like they were just mixed in with the "regular" size ones. Couldn't really say they were in separate schools, different areas, or different depths. We caught most of ours at 30 and 40.

I think most tie up their own rigs and you can find the squid skirts just about anywhere. You just tie up a double hook rig and run it through the skirt. Put a few beads in between the skirt and the hook to place the hooks where you want them. It's not that easy to find good quality skirts in the smaller sizes though. Jzell has a good source if you want to PM him.

Im not sure what the reason was on the big ones....caught the 18" on the bottom right after I switched to a Jig-a-bert local guy in oakridge makes them the fish seem to like them except the paint comes off pretty easy....I didnt have a fish finder or down riggers so Im not to sure what depth we were trolling at but Im assuming somewhere in that 30-40' range..anyone been up to odell or crescent lately? is it worth making the trip up this weekend?
