Cultus Derby report

Well I wish I could report as much success as the kokanee fishermen. The Cultus derby was a bust for me this year. 3 of us fished 21 hours Sat and Sun without a fish to the boat. My team from last year fished 3 rods for 1 fish in 2 days. Last I heard with 1 hour to go there was a 16lb for 1st and $2000 and a 14 and 12 took 2nd and 3rd. The 2 slowest days I ever had on that lake. :shrug: Most boats I talked to never got a fish to the boat either. I know a low pressure can put those guys off the bite but this was ridiculous. On a positive note the rib dinner at the resort was fantastic. I better go out to Crescent for some kokes so I can remember what it feels like to catch a fish.

Thanks for the follow-up report. ONE day like that is bad enough- especially when you know the lake and that there's plenty of fish there and you've caught'em before- but to add insult to injury you had to do it again:shocked: ???? Only consolation is- what a beautiful lake to spend two days on- I love that place!

I feel your pain. I had the same sort of a day on Saturday-fishing for trout! I too need to go to a high confidence/ catch many fish lake to recover!

Amen trollinfortrout. I seem to be a "streaky" fisherman anyway. It took 3 trips for me to get my 1st fish in each of my last 2 boats, then I had a streak on LBC 2 years ago where even the fish checker at the dock wanted to see the days pics on my camera, assuming I had some since we always got keeper bulls that we released.
I'm not trading my boat in for a golf cart any time soon......:jester:
